Models can be created from numerous sorts of information. Although they should be bold enough to be legible across the courtroom, they are the result of a large amount of data.
1) A devastating fire occurred when an uncared for tree brought down power lines which ignited overgrown shrubbery. The model showed three possible tree heights, all supported by testimony and/or photographs. 
2) Aerial photography and measurements taken at the site provided the basis of the scale model.
